Charles the Bold - A History of the Roman Empire

Charles the Bold is a new biography of Charles I. The author describes him as having the same enthusiasm and charisma as Charlemagne. He was able to raise enough money and allocate enough funds to pay off Vikings, which demonstrates that he had a good management of money. And he built fortified bridges all across his realm to cut back on Viking attacks. It's hard not to like this guy.
