CGI and the way of shooting it kind of rules out everything that can't. And I think that's why you connected to anxiety because, like, anxiety is the work confronted with the unseen as something seen. So then a static shot of some creepy setting in a horror movie in the thirties literally resists,. literally denies you the ability to see what's in those creepy corners in the back. Whereas, you know, imagine like Browning's Dracula shot with CGI. Like it's a night, and I think it kind of exists. But for me there's a necessary and a sufficient condition for horror. Your characters cannot have like agency and like they cannot use reason to get themselves
