GitHub Markdown

GitHub uses markdown, but they maintain the line wrap. I don't know why that is and maybe someone can spelunk through 15 years of commit history to find the answer for you, but I suspect not. They've added more features around like squash and merge and things like that where they can combine. But it still doesn't seem to be all the way there.
