Resilience Is a Collective Strength
Bruce was visiting relatives in beyrout when an enormous chemical explosion at the port ripped the city apart. More than 200 people died and thousands were seriously injured. He describes the building shaking for about 30 seconds before the windows blew out. The next day, the story was leading news bulletins all over the world. One commentator told another broadcaster, they said, we're fed up of being told we need to be resilient. We just want to live our lives.
