I had never done any work in Spanish before. In the scripts we initially write them in English, knowing that certain dialogue will be said in Spanish and read in English. So there's that process of like, okay, we want it to look funny on screen for people that are reading it. And then in the back of our heads, we also know how it will be spoken in Spanish. We do all the English versions so that the network can read them and understand them. And then there's the Spanish pass. It is so funny reading the words. Some parts are in English, but substantially in Spanish with English subtitles on the screen That subtitle comedy almost never plays because you lose the rhythm
