The Role of Race in Kidney Transplants

Two major organ transplant institutes are planning to change their criteria for determining who is going to receive a kidney transplant in order to favor Black patients. Blacks make up a lower percentage of kidney transplant recipients than white patients, and that's because of systemic racial bias. Patients have a much better lifestyle and they have much greater longevity if they get a kidney transplant.
