Loneliness sets off some very specific symptoms, for example, sleeplessness and difficulty digesting. For me, it was a lot of weight loss. I ended up with an auto immune diagnosis some months after the split. And what i learned, you know, from talking to researchers, is that sometimes these autoimmune diseases do, in fact, have an emotional trigger.
