Are There Other Mechanisms for How Inequality Turns Into Social Inability?

High levels of material inequality could lead to social inability. I can imagine social trust being eroded in a social environment with high levels of income and wealth inequality. People will be angry at each other; people will be envious. It is an ineradicable feature of human nature that we compare ourselves to others. But even if absolute leading standards are okay for everybody, that is going to be a problem for social cooperation.
