The Russians are of course suckers for recognition. They want to be recognized during the Soviet Union for their alleged greatness. So there is this good question of what would have happened if Russia was admitted to NATO. Allowing Russia into NATO or the Soviet Union into NATO would perhaps have ruined the organization in a very serious way, he says.
