The Indestructible Watch and the Event Horizon
People often say you can never see anything into a black hole because time slows down and you have to wait till the end of the universe. But what's happening as it falls in is that the event horizon is already growing. So if you use a stick which is like a long string of particles then the next particle pulls the event horizon over the previous one etc. etc.
