Jane is trying to tamper down any sort of gossip that's going to start leaking. Jane's basely saying, stay out of it. It's not your business. But marina takes him up on the invite. Another balsy move like marina's just, marina does not have boundaries at all at all. She has a plan in her head, and she's to fulfil that plan. If marina had stuck around longer than just a season, that actually would have been a really interesting character trait for her.
