How Machine Learning Can Predict What Humans Will Like

Is machine learning out of box any good at predicting what humans will like? I think they are starting to do it, even if you take, let's say the plane GPT four. We started with a simple prompt and that prompt gives you really not really good, not really creative uses. But then we found out some technique to make it give you better results. You can't type a naive prompt and automatically I'll give you an answer which is much better than the original one.
