Two weeks earlier, there had been a massive bonfire of luther's books just a hundred miles away in cologne. The more luther writes, the more bold he is, and the more enraged his enemies become. Luther appears to be enjoying himself, and makes a show of recanting still more. But in private, luther feels vulnerable. I do not know. Satan was never so furious against me.
