With a million or a billion channels, with new videos being uploaded faster than new videos can be watched, the rules have changed again. The movies of the forties and the fifties and the sixties were based around directors. Now we have net flicks making more movies every year. Their model is the long tail model. We don't want to please everyone. We need to figure out how to go to the edges,. to reach the audience we seek to reach. So why should we care about this? Well, there are two things happening. On one and new forms of expression are able to exist because distribution has changed.
