The Importance of Blessing and Curse

In each one of these invitations, I would submit that there's always invitation, presence, and mission. And we're going to find in this passage a really important idea that I want to sort of walk out. It's all about blessing and curse, if you remember. Jacob wrestles and he says, bless me. If God is love, then it has to be a choice that we opt into. So there's an invite. There's a promise of presence that God will always be with us and Emmanuel. And then there's work to do, right? There's meaningful work to participate in.
