The Gender Pay Gap and the Related Gender Pensions Gap
The gender pay gap and the associated gender pensions gap are likely to hit most women's finances very hard indeed. We certainly see in a huge disparity between the genders, both in the amount of savings but also confidence with relation to personal finance and savings generally. Men have average pension pots of about £142,000 and women nearer to £50,000. But when we ask about their financial confidence, it is still far lower than their male counterparts - no matter that they've managed to get earlier on to the savings ladder.
