The CCP's Alternative to Liberal Democracy?
No one thinks top-down planning as practiced by Soviets and Chinese in the 20th century is a recipe for success, not even the CCP. The issue as you discussed is whether this time is different. Do advances in technology now make it so that you can do centralized control? So what's your view on this question? Regardless of whether you mentioned, say Uganda, a developing country, maybe it doesn't work that well. But will China get far in using technology to, if not full legitimacy, but to have control?
