Every time a new sitcom comes out with the awesome cool new catchphrase that people love a magician could use it for a spell. That's an example of simon being bad at magic is he tried to use a hair of the dog once um you know for its actual purpose of maybe like curing a hangover or something and he just he gave someone dog hair like his magic is just kind of busted all rightUm but then there's there there are times when people use lyrics like some of the lyrics from the queen song behemian rhapsody or from the much.

This novel about a wizarding school and its teen magicians feels like the finale of a series that you've heard about but haven't read. Which is...sort of the point? Born out of an in-universe work of fan fiction from a different Rowell novel, Carry On provides a great opportunity to dig into what helps a story inspired by another story succeed.
