CHAPTER

Is It Possible to Create Artificial Onsciousness?

Human beings don't have consciousness. Consciousness is the only reality there is. The very consciousness that is trying to be created is the stuff out of which a computer would try to create it. A creating individual consciousness boils down to a biogenesis, creating life from non life. I don't think an artificially conscious individual will be made of silicon. We are abstracting everything that is of significance, namely the medium. Everything we know about consciousness tells us that it correlates with life, with metabolism, not with silicon computers.
