FIFA World Cup in Qatar

Qatar was awarded the two 22 FIFA World Cup tournaments for 2014 and 2018. The country has no tradition of football, a poor political situation and little infrastructure to build eight stadia. 90% of Qatar's population are foreign workers who do not have the rights of citizens. They're often forced into exploitative, dangerous working conditions. To understand how a country like this could never want to be awarded a World Cup, even be considered as a finalist for the thing, we're going to learn how the governing body makes those decisions today.
