socialism seems to be becoming more popular, oddly in two places. My argument is we become so wealthy, we can afford to dabble in socialism. But why do people not recognize this? There's been a dissociation of historical memory from the tragedies and atrocities of socialism as attempted. The most recent example being Venezuela,. eight to ten years ago, you could go over the academic left of the U.S. today with all these people singing the praises of Hugo Chavez.
