The Russian central bank created an office in Beijing so they could settle in gold. It's going to help float China, but what you're seeing is China becoming dependent on Russia. If the Yuan ruble trade gets out of balance and the swap lines get out of balance, they can settle in gold easily. And both of them are huge producers of gold.
