The Origins of Early Farmers and Mesolithic Hunter-Gaherers
Ancient DNA is simply the answer to that question. It was the arrival of people from the continent and there was a massive genetic tunnel. But now we can start to get a little bit under the surface of that, and we can see that there's some regional variation. In Western Scotland, for example, North Western Scotland, it's the one area in Britain where we've got a few individuals in those early samples who've significant hunter-gatherers ancestry.
