Is There a Gap Between a Fact and the Truth?
i think there's an argument from this kind of relativist position, which says that we can't even have an idea of an objective fact outside of us. So a fact is going to be the thing that our true statements, or our true beliefs are about. And so once you distinguish between the things that our statements are about from the statements themselves, it's easy to see that thereis that gap between those two things. I can get things wrong, or i can get things right. Can't call me pinned down so neatly.
