TAM is the total addressable market. S-O-M is serviceable, obtainable market or the portion of SAM that you can capture. When TAM doesn't necessarily have to be huge, it could be really valuable. Uber and Airbnb both exceeded their predictable TAM in terms of potential reach. DoorDash has a problem with all food being eaten in the U.S., but they're not actually going to replace people at home.
