China's Attitude Towards Russia Is Not Justifiable

When Russia was doing relatively well before summer, China's assessment of Russia was much less negative. If somehow Russia is able to turn things around miraculously and came out of war as a winner, China will be more careful in the public's display of displeasure. This is because Russia remains a useful instrument in China's efforts to counter the United States. With a weaker Russia, China hopes for more ability to influence Moscow's decision-making.
