Nearly half a million indian indentured workers, which is a nice, nice word for slave. 450 thousand were transported forcibly by the british to the island of marichas where they worked as indentured workers. And about a hundred and 50 thousand more were sent to either south africa or eastern africa - essentially tanzania and kinia. So these indians were force transported to these places, far away from their motherland, from their homeland, by thebritish against their will.
