CHAPTER

Is Cinema 40 Material a Good Renderer?

Third party rendering is a little bit easier than physical where out of the box, it's already got some physical settings. Some third party renderers will convert cinema 40 physical materials on the fly and show you their best effort as to like trying to recreate what physical does. So in my opinion, I think you should always use that that renderer's native uber material. You can just manipulate it a million different ways to get whatever you need. The fact that they introduced reflectance went a long way when they introduced reflectances in the physical renderer in cinema 4D was actually a really cool feature.
