The Power of Microbes

I became interested as a child in the astonishing power that these microbes seem to have. That was an early way in, but it just keeps getting more and more fascinating. I don't know much of my practical work is in the field, so Katie has these really high tech time machines with valves and dials. I'm often in the field scraping mud into plastic bags. More fashion aggression there, I think we know. If you're looking at fungi, I think you have to go into the field because you can't really understand what it's about until you can see it where it should be. And then it's all like context, isn't it?
