The Ulysses Storm

The data from Ben Nevis and other places around the country are enabling us to reconstruct particularly extreme events. So we can build up this picture of what the atmosphere was doing by combining information from various locations. The one we've learned most about is one in 1903 called the Ulysses storm, which calls enormous damage across the UK. Stronger winds than any other event was seen in the modern area for certain parts of Britain.
