The North Carolina Prisoners Labor Union

In the 19 seventies, there were a bunch of unions within prisons popping up. Some of them were affiliated with existing unions like those relationships were being built. The supreme court ruled on the jones versus north carolina prisoners labor union. And essentially they said that incarcerated workers do not have the right to join or organizing union. Even though their in this country, who are working jobs in and making money for other people, and sometimes being paid a little bit, like cents an hour, or in a lot of other states, like nothing, they don't count.
