I think what we're meant to understand about Nick is that he's conflicted, but I think this is something actually skipping ahead a little bit of like what writers can take away. But if you have a conflicted protagonist or character generally, make sure that it's really clear that they're conflicted and draw that line between conflicted and wishy washy, right? That's a different kind of, we can be sympathetic to someone who is, who doesn't quite know what to do,. He needs to stay oatmeal to the end. Poor oatmeal lick.
