Introduction

Colin McCabe is a principal engineer at Confluence where his focus is on performance and scalability of Apache Kafka. Most recently, he's been setter-staged with the implementation of craft. Craft is Kafka plus Raft. It's where Kafka removes that dependency to zookeeper by implementing a new quorum controller service based on that Raft protocol.
