The Writer's Strike Is Not Gonna Cut It This Time
The writers have really been left behind in this streaming revolution. The entire economics of the business have changed yet the calculations and the negotiated schemes for how they're paid have not cut up to this. If you get one job, it's not a year's worth of work anymore. It's a couple months. And all of these types of things, the residual scheme especially, is just so out of whack with streaming versus the traditional methods that the studios just don't wanna deal with this.
