Sanrio intentionally started at low price points. But the way they captured value was making it collectable. So instead of selling one thing for a hundred bux, they'll sell a hundred things for one boxand one dollar. And that gets you the same place. But the psychology makes them want to complete it. It's because the character is so easy to knock off.
