In the old days onboarding was like, don't break these rules and here's the key. Now that has gotten better, but almost like creating a playbook of this is the onboarding when you're new. One of my executive MBA students last fall was working on this exact sort of onboarding project. She thought of some really simple, pretty cheap ways to just acknowledge them.

Dr. Mat Duerden is a Professor of Experience Design and Management at Brigham Young University. His teaching focuses on experience design and design thinking. He is the best-selling author of Designing Experiences. His research focuses on experience design in both work and non-work contexts. Mat’s publications have appeared in a variety of journals including Leisure Sciences, Journal of Environmental Psychology, Journal of Adolescent Research, and Journal of Leisure Research.
