The Federal Open Market Committee and the Inflation Crisis
There's 11 people on the federal open market committee, which is responsible for making these kinds of decisions about interest rates and really the fundamental economic policies being pursued by the country. There's no public oversight, really, of that group. I mean, there's supposedly congressional oversight, but you know, of course, that's mediated by an army of lobbyists. And it's all done behind closed doors and in a way that is intentionally confusing to people. This is really a mechanism to make sure that there is essentially no popular participation in these crucial economic decisions that affect all our lives.
