Git has a relational data base on your source control history. That could allow for interesting mining and visualizations, like you're describing. You can even use a different database other than ascualite or duck d b if you want to. It's just force of tradition and legacy that it's always been public domain, and we're going to keep doing it that way. If i'd known in two thousand and one, two thousand two when i did this, what i know now, i would have done it differently.
