Jerry Wexer and Aretha Franklin chipped in uncredited lyrical contributions to Don'tDaI. Pan, Oldham, Chips Moment, Roger Hawkins, and Tommy Cogbill started cutting a backing track for the song. But while they were doing this, things had been going wrong with the other participants. It ended up with an all white horn section as well, including one trumpet player called Ken Laxton who had never worked with any of the other musicians there. He was an outsider in a group of people who regularly worked together, and had a pre-existing relationship.
