By 261 Spain and Britain have all pledged their allegiance to posthumous. He minted coins with the legend, restitution, galliarum, so restorer of the Gallic provinces. This took his second consulship in 261. By the end of that year he had taken the title Germanicus maximus, greater as conqueror of the Germans.
