The Romantic Period - Spirituality

The romantics were interested in folk art, the bubbling up expression of national feeling. Spirituality is also a part of the romantic feeling. We note that this is to some degree in contrast with the enlightenment and neo classicism where there was just emphasis entirely on reason. The spirituality of the romantics could sometimes be based in nature. But again, even here, they would be affected by traditional religion.
