The Pain of a Man Walking His Dog in DC
In the fall of 2020, a US military officer driving through a busy intersection with his two year old in the car suddenly felt like his head was going to explode. A senior official of the National Security Council was walking to his car from the White House toward the Washington Monument when he heard a ringing in his ears and his body went numb. He managed to get himself a lift to the hospital where he honestly thought he might die from whatever was happening in his body. Doctors rolled out a stroke but couldn't find anything that might be causing his symptoms; it took two hours for his speech to return.
