I try to eat at least one fermented food per day, often several. Mushrooms have become more of a regular feature in my diet. I like a glass or two of wine and try to pick red most of the time. Most of my intake is polyphenyl rich red wine with a bit of artisan beer or cider. The latest data also points to the benefits of our gut microbes having a holiday every now and then by having a 14 hour fast. We can all justify our choices and mine is that it gives me pleasure - but getting the balance right is a delicate matter.
