Justice Thomas said affirmative action places black and Hispanic students into environments where they are less likely to succeed relative to their peers. There's just not evidence to support this assertion, she says. Over the last years we have seen Asian American representation at Harvard and other elite universities increase exponentially over the period in which race conscious admissions affirmative action has been in place. She adds that there are groups in the Asian American community that benefit from the consideration of race when their test scores are not high.
