Detecting Inflation With a New Fangled Telescope

Bryan and his team decided they would try to detect these gravitational waves. They used a kind of new fangled telescope, an apparatus that he pioneered called bicep. It was designed to use the light waves of the big bank as a type of film. And so what we were looking for is perturbation in the light waves themselves That would come in this twisting, curling, swirling pattern  called b mode polarization.
