Eftte was besieged on and off for nine years, leading to a stale mate. The war eventually sucked in all its neighbors, as well as britain and france. This included five different treaties that effectively made uruguay a client state of brazil. Now this, unfortunately, would turn into bBrazilian slavers coming into uruguay and kidnapping people they believed to be slaves.
