Rousseau's Discourse Is Not Very Different From That of the Encyclopaedists
Roussea's actual doctrine is not very different from that of the encyclopaedists. He disliked them personally because, temperamentally, he was a kind of dervish from the desert. What was different was the manner when rousseau begins describing his own particular states of mind and soul. That wouldn't have been cared for by helvisos or bahalbach,. or at voltaire, or even didro.
