The Difference Between an Atheist and Non-Religious
If a study says that someone is less religious or not religious, this does not automatically mean they are a non-believer in deities. About 25%, 27% of Americans say, yeah, I'm not religious, but I'm confident that there's a God. Just slightly less than half of the people who don't believe in God in the US are actually affiliated with churches.
