The cost of privacy in the current system is around 500 gas. An aztec mode takes user transactions, which are zero knowlege proofs of themselves and aggregates them together into a block of 896 transactions. That's validated on a theorim so you get to amatize this expensive, one verification cost over eight ninet six uses. And which c have pretty much makes it trend to zero.
