The Role of Mechanical Loading in Collagen Synthesis

The process of mechanical loading is not only what stimulates the collagen synthesis, but it's also the process by which much of the nourishment is drawn into the connective tissues. So if you can consume foods rich in glycine and proline 30 to 60 minutes before you mechanically load your tendons and ligaments, you are putting yourself in an optimal position to get those nutrients into the tendons as you exercise.
